My 2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack has an occasional issue where the touchscreen will not work with App-Connect, AKA CarPlay and Android Auto. When the vehicle starts, the screen is blank, and most of the touch buttons do not work. This prevents CarPlay and Bluetooth from working, posing a big hazard if navigation and calls need to be made.

The last clip shows that the system says my iPhone 12 Pro Max, Australia, is connected to CarPlay when it is unplugged. This is a system bug that probably occurs once a month, which is minimal considering my 2,500-mile-per-month cycle. When it occurs, however, it is a huge burden on the functionality of the vehicle. I depend on Apple Maps for my main mileage-maker. Thankfully, I didn’t have a new place to go in this instance.

As I show in the video, I have almost 37K miles. I bought this car brand new in May 2020 with a deal that’ll never happen again. I love this car, but there are a few annoying electrical issues that happen here and there.
