This video will include the review and disassembly of the Predator Ghost 212 kart racing engine. We'll compare the internal parts to other popular kart racing engines such as the DUCAR 212 Hemi and also a Predator 212 Hemi. We'll do detailed measurements of the internal parts so you will know which parts are compatible with the New Ghost 212 engine.

I'm not sponsored and I purchased this engine with my own funds to disassemble and share the details with you.

Thanks, Chris "Kentucky Fried Fixes"

This review is based on the actual $ value of the engine and internal parts you receive vs the $300+ price paid for the 212 Predator Ghost Kart Racing engine. Not everyone will be pleased with this review, but it's the truth.

Updated info for those that asked. The Ghost 212 rev limiting coil has the following numbers on it:
97630, 6200rpm, YP 201215

Measurements:
Crankshaft Rod Journal Diameter: 1.179" accepts a "clone" type rod
Cam Journal Diameter: .549
Standard Honda clone camshafts will interchange. The Non-Hemi 212 Predator WILL NOT interchange as those have a larger Camshaft Journal diameter.

Camshaft (Quick) Preliminary Specs:
.253” Intake Lobe lift with .251" Intake Valve lift
.251" Exhaust Lobe lift with .247" Exhaust Valve lift
valve lash set .003 Intake, .003 Exhaust (both cold)

Flywheel: Honda Clone taper

Side Cover: Bearing type Honda Camshaft diameter of .549"

Valve Sizes : Intake Valve - 27mm
Exhaust Valve - 24mm

Piston Specs : Standard Dished Piston with 1 Valve Relief
Piston Weight : 161 grams
Wrist Pin Diameter : .715"

Piston Rings: DLC Coated Racing Ring Package
These rings are NOT low tension rings. They are coated or "etched" with DLC:

From IBC coatings:
"DLC Coating stands for diamond-like carbon coating, and is a nanocomposite coating that has unique properties of natural diamond low friction, high hardness, and high corrosion resistance."

Connecting Rod :
Big End of Rod measures 1.182"
Small end of Rod measures .716"
Stock cast rod, the same as any other stock rod. "LY" in the casting

I'm not here to sell anyone anything or promote anything. If I use a product or part and it's good, I'll tell you about it, if it's not I'll tell you that too. You'll always get the truth here regardless of the consequences.

The Predator Ghost 212 has a DUCAR HEMI cylinder head. DUCAR is building the Predator 224 engines for Harbor Freight, it's not a DUCAR block on the Ghost 212 though, no reinforcements and no "DUCAR" cast into the block. It's a Stock 212 Hemi block Predator. A DUCAR 212 Hemi would be a better choice than the Predator Ghost 212. The Ghost 212 is not one of the best harbor freight engines in my opinion. The $20 PZ-22 carburetor does have "Japan" on it. My personal observations and description of the internal and external parts are in the video any hidden specs have been revealed.
