1920's General Store Still Standing in the Mountains of East Tennessee: We Go Inside. I was able to find the current owner of the property Robin Cox Smith and found out it was her Great Grandfather Rev Andy McCullah who first opened the store in the early 1920’s. In the 1950’s McCullah moved to Kentucky to pastor a church and left the store to his daughter Ruth. The store become known to locals as the “Ruth Cox Store” and was open until around 1990.
