Earl Hamner, Jr. also discusses Rod Serling's early years, including serving in World War II and writing for radio, where the two men met years before working on The Twilight Zone.
Earl Hamner, Jr. wrote eight episodes of The Twilight Zone, including "The Hunt," "A Piano in the House," "Jess-Belle," and "You Drive."
Mr. Hamner also created the classic 1970's CBS TV series The Waltons and was the show's narrator, providing the voice of John-Boy Walton.
Earl Hamner, Jr. was also the creator and producer of the highly successful CBS nighttime TV soap opera, Falcon Crest, which aired from 1981-1990.
