“Tomra Amaye Ki Bujhaiba” is a Bengali Baul song, possibly depicting Radha’s contemplation on love and its consequences. She asks what others will explain to her about love, now that she herself feels the burning pain that it inflicts, comparing herself to burnt coal. She says she knows and understands this passion and suffering well. The lyrics say that some people endure the agony of love well or at least it seems so. But their outward appearances deceive, masking their inner turmoil. On the inside, they feel the same burning torment that Radha feels. The singer reflects on her devotion to love, over time, symbolised by threading a rosary in her beloved’s name. But what pains her is that her beloved neither accepts or gifts rosaries for their love, rather plays tricks. The verses also ruminate about the cyclical nature of feelings, where happiness gives way to sorrows and pain makes way for relief. She anticipates her beloved Krishna’s arrival with deep longing for their union. At the end, the song deals with the complexities of love, its consequences and the seeking of liberation through spiritual union with the Divine.

Bauls are a group of wandering mystical minstrels of Bengal. This community started with the largest Cultural Revolution in the history of human civilization, the Bhakti Movement led by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Their syncretic traditions are the outcome of a culmination of Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism. Baul Music and Philosophy are deeply intertwined, with the Music serving as a medium for expressing and exploring our inner-self and the world around us, in search of the Divine. They also emphasise the importance of love, compassion, and tolerance, and reject distinctions based on caste, religion, or social status. Duality is a common theme in Baul song lyrics, with allegorical narratives using metaphors. ‘Deho-tatva’ – a recurring premise in Baul lyrics – is a concept of portraying nature and the universe through our bodies, which reflects the immortality of the cycle of life and death. It connects sex and spirituality – spiritual union of the individual with the Divine - to attain Moksha.
