May 2022- Arrived at Yosemite NP’s South entrance and learned that the cables went up on Halfdome early! The first thing we did after we checked into the Wawona Lodge was to get online to enter the lottery for the permits to climb! We ate lunch and checked into our room, then headed out for the 45 minute drive up to Yosemite Valley to get the lay of the land and explore. Since we had applied for the Halfdome permits for Friday, we decided we would climb up to Yosemite Falls and Yosemite Point Thursday. And WOW, what a climb it was! We never imaged the trail would put us so close to the edge! And we THINK we saw Alex Honald on the trail that day! (He was there!)
