The cult classic film Labyrinth has enchanted audiences for decades at this point, but it appears that the film and the contributions David Bowie made to it has been slightly disregarded by the academic circle surrounding his work. In an attempt to break new ground in the field, we do a deep reading of the film and how the soundtrack plays into it. Will we discover a hidden Bowie masterpiece within the labyrinth?

Big thanks to our friends for looking over the script and doing voices:

Bonus meme:
Labyrinth was actually very important for the adventure game genre, as the Lucas Arts adaptation was a brand new venture for the studio that predates a lot of ideas from Maniac Mansion, practically laying the foundations for the SCUMM engine. Douglas Adams even got on board, suggesting lots of ideas, the most interesting being how the game starts out as a text adventure and then transforms into a visual one when the player enters the labyrinth. Basically, if it wasn't for Labyrinth you wouldn't have Secret of Monkey Island and we think that is worth appreciating. Also, savvy Transparency viewers will recognize that the customizable characters in the Labyrinth video game can also be found in the early online multiplayer game Habitat! The two were in development at the same time and share a lot of DNA. Isn't that quite rad? Everything is connected, remember this Transparency lore. Nothing we say is ever superfluous or unnecessary, all of it has meaning!
