Optifine has a "render quality" options in shaders, ranging from 2x, 1x and 0.5x with 2x being best quality. Each time I am killed or die to stupidity, (voiding on purpose to save my bed doesn't count) I lower the quality, eventually reaching that dreaded 0.5x where the game looks like a 144p youtube video. Enjoy!
