In the Udarata dance tradition, there are a total of 18 "Wannams". The first wannama among these 18 is known as Gāhaka Wannama. It praises the sound of God Sakra's Dakshina Wurtha Hak Gediya
This Gāhaka wannama is unique among the 18 Udarata wannams, with a beautiful and complex melodious sequence as well as drum patterns.
Although the traditional rhythmic thith roopa is 2/2/4, we have incorporated several variations of thith roopa in this creation.
In addition to utilizing local percussion instruments, we have also creatively incorporated foreign percussion instruments into this dance.
This Sak Nada dance is created using melodies from Athi Vilambit singing to Druth Laya from Gāhaka Wannama.
