This Ramnavami season, being the first one after Ram Lalla returned to Ayodhya, here is a beautiful poem on Shri Ram written in January 2024 by Shri PR Sudarrsan of Udupi, ahead of the Pran Prathishta at Ayodhya.

This Mangalam was performed for the first ever time inside the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on February 24th 2024 by Shri Sikkil Gurucharan, Shri V Sanjeev and Shri KV Prasad.

Set to a Ragamalika of 5 ragas namely Hamirkalyani, Sudhadhanyasi, Valaj, Surya and Madhyamavathi, this Mangalam on Ram Lalla has been arranged by Shri Arun Menon in a waltz-like style.

बालरामरूपकञ्च मन्दहास-आननम्।
कृष्णवर्णविग्रहञ्च रत्न-पुष्प-मोदितम्।
विश्वमूर्तिदारकञ्च राघवं रमाश्रयम्।
रामनाममङ्गलं सदैव तं नमाम्यहम्।। १।।

To the Baala Raama form, to the gentle/soft smiling face, to the Murthi that is black in colour; To the pleasure/delight(मोदितम्) which is decorated with gems/flowers; To the boy who is the Vishwamoorthi; To Raghava, To the beloved refuge/shelter; To the happy/brave one whose name is Ram, I always offer my salutations.



उत्तरप्रदेशजञ्च उन्नतप्रभावकम्।
अयोध्यनाथदर्शनञ्च भारतस्य पौरुषम्।
जन्मस्थानमन्दिरस्य न्यायमार्गलाभकम्।
रामनाममङ्गलं सदैव तं नमाम्यहम्।। २।।

To the one born in Uttar Pradesh; To the great, eminent power; To the sight/appearance of the Lord who is undefeatable; To the manhood of the Bhaarath; To the fortunate ones who obtained his temple in his own birth place through legal means; To the happy/brave one whose name is Ram, I always offer my salutations.


पितृवाक्यपालकञ्च आदरावतारकम्।
सत्यवाक्यजीवनञ्च नित्यशीलदैवतम्।
पथ्यमार्गदर्शनञ्च सत्त्ववित्तदायकम्।
रामनाममङ्गलं सदैव तं नमाम्यहम्।। ३।।

To the one who follows his father's word; To the revered Avatar; To the one whose life is full of truthful words; To the God whose good conduct was eternal/unchanged despite so many challenges, To the one who showed the proper path; To the one who gives us real wealth; To the happy/brave one whose name is Ram, I always offer my salutations.


सूर्यवंशदीपकञ्च सान्द्रचन्द्रमोहनम्।
आर्य-वर्य-शूर-वीर-धीर-चारु-राजकम्।
सार्वभौम-शौर-सर्ववैरिनाशकारकम्।
रामनाममङ्गलं सदैव तं नमाम्यहम्।। ४।।

To the one who made Surya dynasty even more luminous; To the abundantly pleasing fascination/stupefaction; To the honourable/faithful(आर्य), excellent/eminent(वर्य), valiant/powerful(शूर),strong/robust(वीर), wise/learned/firm/cool/steady(धीर), beautiful/elegant(चारु) prince(राजक:); To the ruler of the whole world(सार्वभौम); To the hero(शौर); To the one who destroys all enemies; To the happy/brave one whose name is Ram, I always offer my salutations.


मानवैकमात्मतत्त्वम् एकमात्रसाधकम्।
सत्सनातनेशमेव संस्कृतिप्रदर्शनम्।
कोटि-कोटि-सज्जनानामिष्टदेवसुन्दरम्।
रामनाममङ्गलं सदैव तं नमाम्यहम्।। ५।।

To the one Supreme reality who can unite us all; To the One reality which unites us to the Lord of Sanathana Dharma; To the one who portrays our culture; To the beautiful God who is dear to crores of good samaritans, To the happy/brave one whose name is Ram, I always offer my salutations.
