So I bought a CNC machine and it occurred to me that combining CNC projects that are transferred to the lathe could be interesting. In this video, I create a board out of various scrap wood sticks, then use the CNC to cut out rings that were glued up to create a kind of segmented bowl blank.

The CNC allowed for very precise cuts that glued up really easily and, because of the precision, I was able to use standard woodturning techniques to turn the bowl itself in very little time. The resulting variety of shapes made for, in my opinion, a wonderful bowl.
