From January to June 2022, 38 out of 100 international students enrolled in VET courses

This video is about VET

VET is Victorian Education and Training System and it is used for skills such as chef, hairdresser, electrician, age carer etc.
In VET courses the emphasis is more on practical or hands-on skills and less on the theory.

Students are prefering VET courses for so many reasons:
1. If you do not like high study load, then these courses are for you, study load in these courses is generally 20 hours per week
2. it costs less than a uni degree
3. it has lower english proficiency requirements
4. it can be completed in a shorter time frame
5. it gives you on the job training
6. The exams in this course are more towards testing your practical skills and not that much of theoretical knowledge
7. It's a pathway to a university if you decide to obtain a Bachelor's degree after diploma

So overall it puts less pressure on the international students financially and intellectually.
