Chasu is a Hong Kong born, Korean raised producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist that has been buzzing recently in Korea’s hip-hop and underground pop scene. He is most notably the go-to producer for Indonesian rapper and recent 88rising signee Warren Hue but has been holding on to some seriously beautiful and melancholy solo material. Combining backgrounds in hip-hop production, jazz composition and a love of genre bending indie-pop Chasu is an artist completely unique in the Korean musical landscape and an exciting new talent with global ambitions.

Chasu began with music from an early age through classical piano and later jazz saxophone but really came into his own when he discovered production by watching YouTube videos of Rich Brian breaking down his beatmaking process. He was mentored by prolific Korean producers Hoiwave and Fisherman and ended up connecting with Warren Hue – meeting up at a Chipotle in New York City. Through that collaboration he’s now come full circle to be working on new music for artists on 88rising.

During the past year Chasu has been studying at UC Berkley remotely while working from a home studio in Seoul. He is very excited to make the move to California this summer and present his music to the world with us here at 777 MUSIC.
