Liszt Mephisto Waltz No.1, S.514 "First Mephisto Waltz"

This waltz, called "Der Tanz in der Dorfschenke: Erster Mephisto-Walzer" (The Dance in the Village Inn: First Mephisto-Waltz), is one of Liszt's more famous and beloved pieces. It was composed as an orchestral and piano work in three versions: orchestra, piano duet, and piano solo. At the time of composing, Liszt had dedicated the piece to his favorite student, Karl Tausig. Additionally, Liszt added two more passages into the solo version and likely did so while teaching in his later years - as was a common habit of his.
