Here’s a rare find! This 2001 Honda CBR929RR “Erion Racing Edition” is a piece of superbike history. The "929" is widely regarded as a turning point in the evolution of modern superbikes, with Honda introducing innovations like inverted front forks, 17-inch wheels (replacing the earlier 16-inch size, which is now the standard for superbikes), and a swingarm mounted directly to the rear of the engine. An all-titanium exhaust system featuring the HTEV setup also set this model apart from its predecessors.

Much of what made the 929RR groundbreaking is now standard on modern superbikes, but the “Fireblade” still remains a powerful reminder of what makes these machines so captivating. The Erion Racing Edition livery adds to its rarity, with Honda producing just 2,000 of these special editions. This version features a black powder-coated frame (as opposed to the more common raw aluminum) and a distinctive red, black, and white color scheme that remains striking even by today's standards. While it was eventually succeeded by the CBR954RR and the liter-class CBR1000RR, this 150hp beast with a top speed of 172mph remains an impressive machine.

This particular bike has been technician-owned and kept largely stock, with tasteful upgrades like a Hotbodies tail tidy, blacked-out windscreen, frame sliders, a GPR steering damper, and integrated LED turn signals. The carbon fiber exhaust was replaced with a full titanium system by Max Torque Cans, including an optional 'db killer' baffle that comes with the bike. Braided stainless brake lines have replaced the original hoses, and CRG levers have been installed for better comfort and adjustability. The original levers, windscreen, and taillight are available if desired. LED headlights were also installed for improved visibility and aesthetics.

All services are current. The bike received front and rear hydraulic flushes within the last six months, a valve check at 30,000 miles, a complete radiator hose replacement, a coolant flush just a month ago, and a fresh full synthetic oil change one week prior to this listing. This Honda is ready to ride and, thanks to its legendary reliability, is easily capable of doubling its current mileage with proper maintenance.

The owner reluctantly decided to sell due to upcoming surgeries that will prevent him from riding for several months. He knows he’ll regret parting with this machine but is facing a future where riding just isn’t possible in the short term.

Included with the bike are four keys, the original owner’s manual, a Haynes manual, a box of original parts, and the owner’s gratitude. You may also get a shoulder devil whispering in your ear, reminding you that you’ve paid for the whole speedometer, so you might as well use it!

PRESS

The 2001 Honda CBR929RR Erion Racing Edition is a thrilling example of Honda’s engineering prowess, blending raw power and refined handling. With its 929cc inline-four engine producing 150hp, the bike delivers strong, smooth acceleration across the rev range, but especially lights up past 8,000 rpm. The titanium exhaust not only reduces weight but adds a deeper, more aggressive tone, heightening the overall ride experience.

Its handling is sharp and responsive, thanks to inverted front forks and the engine-mounted swingarm. The bike feels stable through corners, and the GPR steering damper keeps the front end composed, even at higher speeds. Braking is precise and powerful, with the braided stainless lines delivering a firm and predictable feel, allowing you to push the bike with confidence.

Ergonomically, the CBR929RR offers a comfortable balance between aggressive riding and all-day usability. The seating position and CRG levers provide adjustability, making it suitable for both city commutes and highway blasts. In urban settings, the bike is easy to maneuver, while on the highway, its speed and stability shine, with the titanium exhaust delivering a satisfying soundtrack as you accelerate.

The Erion Racing Edition stands out with its unique livery and rare status, making it a collector’s gem that’s just as capable on the road as it is admired at bike meets. For riders seeking a superbike with both historical significance and lasting performance, the CBR929RR Erion Racing Edition remains a standout choice.
