Hi Everyone, welcome to my channel. Today I am trying out "Prismacolor" coloured pencils. This is purely my own thoughts and experiences and not a paid for video by any of the products I am using.
I usually use Faber-Castell "Polychromos" coloured pencils for any professional coloured pencil work, but so many other artists are raving about "Prismacolor" pencils that I just had to try them out. I haven't invested in the full range of pencils until I know that I really like them. So this is just from a box of 36 pencils. I found them easy to use with a nice waxy and creamy consistency, but I did find them more difficult to blend in to a colour that was free from the paper surface pattern showing through. Unlike the "Polychromos" which are a much harder lead and produce a smoother finish, but this might just be that I am not used to working with "Prismacolor". The pencils give a good depth of colour and each colour easily to produces either a light or dark tone. As I said in the video I would prefer to have a larger sized tin, where you can see more of the colours displayed at one go and I also found the trays difficult to remove from the tin. I paid £36.65 for this tin of 36 pencils on Amazon the first week of January this year, but I notice that they are now £45.72 so I must have bought them during a sale offer! The book I used to draw from is a great book for practising different textures and a whole page of illustrations are given to each texture with good four step illustrations for how to achieve each layer.

I hope you enjoyed the video and found it useful.
As always, Happy Painting and see you next week.
