Halo-Halo Bandung is one of the songs of Indonesian struggle that illustrates the spirit of the struggle of the people of Bandung city in the post-independence period in 1946, especially in the event of the Bandung Lautan Api which occurred on March 23, 1946. In the Bandung Lautan Api, Bandung people burned the city Bandung to prevent the city being controlled by allied troops and Dutch NICA soldiers who wanted to take Indonesia back after Japanese forces surrendered unconditionally to Allied forces in World War II and withdrew their troops from Indonesia. Halo-Halo Bandung's song became very famous and became a symbol of the struggle of the Indonesian people in their struggle for independence from foreign colonies.
