How do you build a better life? Y’alternative singer-songwriter Brent Funkhouser’s new song “Blackberries” (out February 3rd) celebrates the hard work and grit needed to build something meaningful. This Appalachian twang-banger overstuffs the cornucopia, planting every seed by hand and leaving no stone unturned. This new single follows Brent’s debut full-length record, The Next Karaoke Star, which was featured by Whiskey Riff and propelled by a fan-powered vinyl LP campaign.

Brent Funkhouser began writing songs to quell his adolescent boredom, and quickly fell head-first into a life-long obsession. Today, Brent is a dyed-in-the-wool troubadour with hundreds of shows under his belt, from the hills of western North Carolina to the coastal communities of Rhode Island, winning over attentive audiences and opening for legends like Judy Collins and Phil Vassar along the way.
