Nothing would make me happier than to know that others are playing this song out there somewhere.

Two years ago, a routine surgery inexplicably put me into extreme, unrelenting chronic pain. All of the suffering and painkillers led to a downward spiral of depression.

One evening, my brother-in-law showed up and introduced me to a game he found recently, called Outer Wilds. Other family members joined in and we took turns as pilots and worked together as a team. We started gathering twice a week, and these group gaming sessions became therapy for me and gave me something to look forward to. When we finished, it was like a spiritual experience - It's hard to explain, but some of you will relate. Then, I looked around at these people who had been here with me and I was so thankful for the experience, but also so sad that it was over.

Several months later, still deeply impacted by the game, I wrote a song to pay tribute to Outer Wilds and released it on my album. The song is the story of The Protagonist - but also my story. It's in the indie-folk genre and features a banjo (Reibeck) and other instruments and sounds from the game.

Much thanks to Andrew Prahlow for writing the incredible soundtrack to the game and to Mobuis Digital and the entire team who created such a beautiful and meaningful game. And, of course, much thanks and gratitude to Steve Varney (Kid Reverie) for his masterful banjo (and other instrument sounds) on this track.

Thanks again everyone for all of the support and enthusiasm for this song. ❤️🪕🪐
