On June 22nd, Japan's Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako arrived in Britain for their first visit to the country since attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth 21 months ago. Both studied in U.K. and have many memories in U.K. and are looking forward to the visit. Emperor thanked King Charles III for having them amid the treatment. Japan and U.K. have many in common and the visit will be a signature one for the couple since the enthronement.

The next day, Emperor toured the Japan House, a Japanese cultural center in London.
He then met with Japanese nationals active in fields such as the economy, academia and culture while based in the United Kingdom. He asked them about the impact of events like the coronavirus and Britain's withdrawal from the European Union. Naruhito also asked Japanese dancer Hirano Ryoichi about his ankle injury and wished him luck in his future endeavors. Hirano is the second male Japanese principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in London.
The emperor also chatted with British people with ties to Japan. He thanked a professor who was at Oxford University when Naruhito studied there.
