Mazda decided a while back that their vehicles should be though of as budget-friendly alternatives to entry-luxury brands like Acura and Buick, but the CX-50 tacks on a more rugged personality. At least for the moment it is not replacing the CX-5 which is a little boxier and currently Mazda's best seller. Instead the CX-50 is targeting a shopper that wants more off road capability, more rigged looks AND a snazzier interior at the same time. How does it come together? Pretty well, but stay tuned for the upcoming hybrid version due later this year...
