Morang Monastery is also known as Cherab Chooling Gompa. The Buddhists students live here and follow their studies. Akshay Kumar also visited this monastery during his shooting of Kesri movie. Kesri was a superhit bollywood movie, which shooting took place at many locations in Spiti during our visit in valley. It is unbelievable that this place use to be covered with snow for 4-6 months and these people have to survive on their saved food, woods and other things because the connection to other villages breaks completely. Sometimes no electricity for months even.
