The Roosevelt–Rondon Scientific Expedition was a major achievement in exploration and scientific discovery! In 1913, President Theodore Roosevelt and Brazilian explorer Cândido Rondon set out to chart the path of the Rio da Dúvida (River of Doubt), a remote and unexplored river in the Amazon basin. The expedition was incredibly challenging, with the explorers facing deadly snakes, jaguars, malaria, and attacks from hostile indigenous tribes.
