Simple and lots of open string D action on this one! I first heard this tune on my friends Alison Perkins and Nick Brown's album "All Covered In Moss" and instantly fell in love. What can I say - I just love a droney tune! They found it in the collection O'Farrell's Pocket Companion.

I've played this one in a handful of guitar demos over the years, and it sounds great with a pick, too. It's not too hard to hit the open bass strings to flesh out the harmony while picking the melody. For today, though, I wanted to add a little more delicacy and some small variations, so it made sense to take the fingerstyle route.

For folks who decide to learn this, take note - my version has some extra measures! The standard version is a straight 8-bars per section, but I repeat a phrase in the A section, and in the B and D sections hold the last chord for an extra 6 beats.
