I set out for a morning road trip to fly fish the Yellow Breeches creek located in Boiling Springs,PA in Cumberland county. The stream has part approved trout waters and catch and release waters. The morning started slow but as the weather improved so did the fishing with a good mix of rainbows and browns were brought to hand. Trout were feeding generously but held deep and in pockets of water along the creek. I was throwing a selection of eggs , nymphs along with some small streamers which resulted in a good number of fish to the net for the day. If you’re ever in the area be sure to check out TCO fly shop , those guys will point you in the right direction for what’s hatching along with plenty of gear to get you started in fly fishing and tying. There’s plenty of stream access in the boiling springs area that will flow down behind the Allenberry resort, this is a favorite spot of mine to fish when visiting the area. This section of stream was recently restored by the PFBC to make it better for fishing by adding larger rocks, clearing out some of the heavy brush to make it easier for access to the stream for public fishing. They also added some logs along the banks in areas to prevent land erosion.

I was using my Thomas and Thomas 10’ 2wt rod , paired with the Redington run reel along with my hand tied mono leader with a tri color sighter. I use either 4x,5x or 6x fluorocarbon tippet depending on conditions while fishing.

Hope you all enjoy my adventure to the Yellow Breeches. Be sure to like , comment and subscribe!
