FM TOWNSはもっと評価されるべきだった。

選べる色数は1677万色、スプライト最大1024(実用は200ぐらい)、FM音源ステレオ6チャンネル、PCM音源ステレオ8チャンネルと言った化け物スペックです。更にPCとしては、全モデルCD-ROMドライブ搭載、DOSもWINDOWSも走るマルチメディアに相応しいPCでした。

このギャラクシーフォースIIも、アーケードの化け物基盤「Y-BOARD」同様に、地面や壁をスプライトで再現しています。処理はもっさりしているがスゲェ。

グラフィックもかなり似せてきてます。洞窟内の左右のカーブも分岐こそ無いものの再現度が高く驚きました。拡大パターンの節約の為か、かなり手前からオブジェが出現するので、アーケードの様な奥行きは無いです。そのお陰もあって拡大はスムーズです。何気にステージ1は回転も微妙に再現しています。

サウンドはやりたい放題で原曲の面影はほぼありません。ファンが怒るのも無理ないが、オリジナルの曲と割り切ればハイレベルな打ち込みなので楽しめます。

特に4面の砂の惑星「サラ」の曲はカッコいいですね。3面の曲も好きですね。SEは自機のショットもPCMみたいですが、他の音と重なっても音が消える事はないです。

マーティーでも動くので当時はマーティーでプレイしてました。移植の出来は賛否両論だと思いますが、なんか愛着がありCD-ROMはいまだに保管しています。

The graphics are also very similar. There is no branch point in the curve in the cave, but I was surprised at the high degree of reproducibility.There is no depth like an arcade because the objects appear from the front, probably to save the expansion pattern. Thanks to that, expansion is smooth.Stage 1 also reproduces rotation.

The sound is whatever you want, and there is almost no remnant of the original song. No wonder the fans are angry. However, if it is divisible from the original song, the sound level is high and you can enjoy it. The song "Sarah, Planet of Sand" is cool. SE's own shots are like PCM, and even if they overlap with other sounds, the sound will not disappear.

I was playing with Marty at the time because it works even with Marty. I think the results of porting are controversial, but I am attached to it and still keep the CD-ROM.
