Description regarding Cham Dance -
The Annual ‘Guru Thagmar’ prayers and chham (religious dance) are performed at Ngodup Choeling Goenpa, Lachen, Sikkim, India.
His Eminence Lachen Rinpoche led the prayers and oversaw the Cham.
The occasion witnessed presence of a large number of devotees.
The Cham dance is a lively masked and costumed dance associated with some sects of Tibetan Buddhism and Buddhist festivals .The dances often offer moral instruction relating to karuṇā (compassion) for sentient beings and are held to bring merit to all who perceive them.
