TEXT
Revelation 2:1-7- New International Version
To the Church in Ephesus
2 “To the angel[a] of the church in Ephesus write:
These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. 6 But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Who wrote the book of Revelation?
Author: The apostle John is explicitly named as the author of the Book of Revelation in Revelation 1:1, 4:1, and 22:8. Complete text of article:

Writing Date: The Book of Revelation was probably composed in the years 90–95 A.D.

Writing Goal: God gave John the revelation of Jesus Christ "to show his servants what must soon take place." There are many mysteries in this book about things to come.
It is the last warning that judgment is certain and the world will end. It offers us a very small taste of heaven and all the splendors that await those who wear white garments. The book of Revelation walks us through the great tribulation and all of its suffering, as well as the ultimate fire that will face unbelievers forever. The book restates Satan's fall and the impending destruction of himself and his angels. The heavenly angels' and all creatures' obligations, as well as the saints' promises to live with Jesus forever in the New Jerusalem, are revealed to us. Similar to John, we struggle to articulate the meaning of what we read in the book of Revelation.
