Otoya Kichiemon is the acoustic guitar duo of rock musician Masanori Sera and guitarist Yoshio Nomura. The pair are unlike any band in Japan.

The power of Sera and Nomura’s sound upends the image of the acoustic guitar. It’s better to call their style “acoustic hard rock.”

Otoya Kichiemon, in coordination with the venerated Japanese anime studio, Tatsunoko Productions, performs theme songs from their iconic anime shows, like “Gatchaman” and “Casshern”, with just acoustic guitars and voice.

This concert was originally scheduled for March 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed until August 16th. The audience was limited to 50% of capacity, a financial loss for the band and promoter. In order to protect everyone from infection, stringent measures were implemented. Now, more than one month after the concert, we know that not one person became infected.

Due to COVID-19 the worldwide entertainment industry has suffered immense damage. From the bottom of our hearts we look forward to the day we can once again safely perform.
