The project, which is an initiative of the Austrian National Tourist Office in Sydney, is a broad cultural collaboration between the Vienna Boys’ Choir and the Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir based in Cairns, Australia. At the heart of the project are joint concerts of the two choirs in their respective home countries. The Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir travelled to Vienna in May and the Vienna Boys’ Choir will come to Australia for a return visit in October 2017 with concerts scheduled at the Sydney Opera House and in Cairns. The aim of this project is to shine a light on Austria’s unique cultural heritage and Vienna’s deserved reputation as the world’s capital of music, by inviting young Australian singers to engage with one of the world’s most famous children’s choirs and come together through song. This video documents the first part of the project in Vienna.
