Are people bored of Star Wars yet? This question has been asked many many times pretty much since the original trilogy came out. But yet again, people are asking themselves if Star Wars has finally run its course. According to third-party reports on its viewership, the Mandalorian Season 3 performed 28% worse than Obi-Wan Kenobi and 25% worse than season 2. Even the Book of Boba Fett premiered 2% higher than the new Mando series. But viewing figures aren’t everything. Andor’s viewership was way lower but was very highly rated. Sadly, so far, season 3 hasn’t been very highly rated, with episode 3 being rated lower than any other episode of the entire series. So is Star Wars dead yet? I don’t think so. Seasons 1 and 2 of the Mandalorian were boosted by Rise of Skywalker Marketing, the launch of Disney Plus, and the Pandemic. Plus I think the Mandalorian has really lost some steam by the fantastic conclusion of season 2 being swiftly overturned by Book of Boba Fett, which in of itself wasn’t the best show.
