What makes Sree Thiruvegappura Temple different from other temples in Kerala is the presence of three prime deities (Lord Shiva along with Parvathy, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Sankaranarayana) and three flag masts that coexist in a single temple complex. This ancient shrine is believed to have been built by sages. The temple situated i Palakkad district in Kerala is noted for its exquisitely built Koothambalam (temple theatre).
The major festivals celebrated at Thiruvegappura Temple includes Oushadaseva on Karkidakam 16th (which falls during July-August), Kodiyettam after Utrattahi asterism in Kumbham, Theeyattu on the first Saturday in Edavam, Anayoottu on Karkidakam first week, and Erinjupuranpattu on the first Sunday to the next 13 days in Medam.
