Matheran has a pleasant climate throughout the year, the best time to visit is between September to December to experience its panoramic view of the peaks of Western Ghats. This is the time the hill station is spread with greenery and Waterfalls, small lakes, streams are swollen and full because of recent monsoon.

The beauty of Western Ghats, Matheran is the smallest hill station of India. Travellers and tourists who visit the place love exploring the place by walking on foot. By which it becomes more exciting to get lost in the scenic beauty of the town while finding your way.

The hill station, about 90km from Mumbai, is a no-motor vehicle zone. Automobiles are not allowed to go beyond the Dasturi Naka where all two-wheelers and four-wheelers have to be parked. It makes Matheran Asia's only no-automobile hill station.

Few popular tourist attractions in Matheran are Panorama Point, Echo Point, Sunset Point, Chattrapati Shivaji's Fort, Louisa Point, Monkey Point and The Mall Road. Things to do here include horse riding, riding on a hand-pulled rickshaw, nature walks and even biking.
