Super Power Saturday
Churnet Valley Railway
Saturday 1st February 2020

Three USATC 2-8-0 S160 2253 Omaha, 6046 and 5197 are captured on the steeply graded Ipstones branch of the Churnet Valley Railway, hauling 8 Mark I's. The day culminated with triple-headed S160's, with a pair of class 33s on the rear adding additional weight.

Alongside looking at the multi S160 trains on 1st Feb 2020, we take a look back at 2253 on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in September 2019, 6046 during her visit to the NYMR for the 2016 Autumn Steam Gala. We then look at 6046 at the West Somerset Railway in 2018 and in 2016 hauling a wartime demonstration freight at the Churnet Valley Railway. We finally look at 5197 during the 2019 Winter Steam Gala.

The event was held as a fundraising event to return trains to Leek. Visit https://reconnectleek.co.uk/ for more information and to donate.
