After a stretch of nearly 6 weeks without much appreciable rain here in Central Massachusetts, the streams and rivers are drying up.

About 30 minutes after I took the first clips of the stream bed, we had an isolated thunderstorm that gave us 0.4" of rain!

About 30 minutes after the storm, I heard trickling then a sudden flow of water!

Not a torrent but enough for the fish to get a better chance at surviving the drought.

I grew up in this Stream, I spent many a summer as a little kit overturning rocks looking for salamanders, catching frogs and bringing them home for my mom to see...

I've always been a fan of streams and rivers, I love to walk the stream beds in times of low flow. You never know what you will find!

Enjoy.
