Ingredients:

1.75 lb organic fresh ginger root

For the tools:

4 11x11 baking trays ( I wrapped up foils over the trays), optional
Tongs
Blender
1 airtight jar
Cutting board
Knife

Methods:

1. Wash the ginger roots 1 day in advance to allow it to fully air dry before slicing. That way, it will help the ginger to dry fast and saves your electricity.
2. Slice ginger root one by one into 1/4 thick inches because the thinner it is, the fastest it will dehydrates. ( I didn’t remove the skin ), optional
3. Line up the ginger one by one on an 11x11 baking tray, fitted with a cooling rack, you’ll need 4 of those trays.
4. Turn on the oven and preheat to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
5. Place the ginger in the oven and dehydrates for 4 hours. Check them every 2 hours to make sure it’s dehydrating properly. Also turn the ginger over so that it dehydrates quickly and evenly, so you get a better result. If some of the ginger is already dehydrated, remove it. Keep checking every 30 minutes.
6. After 4 hours of dehydrating the ginger in the oven, check to see if it’s brittle. If it’s brittle, it’s means it’s done. You can bend the ginger and that’s how you will know it’s done. If not done yet, just add more time to continue dehydrating it and check it often.
7. Once dry remove from the oven.
8. Let it cool down from 3-4 hours, but don’t wait too long before grinding the ginger because it can absorb humidity from the room and can get a little soft and you don’t want that to happen.
9. Have your blender ready and starts grinding the ginger until finely ground by adding in the blender little by little as shown on my video.
10. Place the ground ginger in an airtight jar.
11. Now you have your own ground ginger ready whenever you need it. It’s the best especially if you’re using it as your ginger tea because you know it’s 100 % organic ginger and no other filler like what we can buy from some stores. Also ground ginger is great for cooking and baking. You can use it on a lot of chicken recipes, soups, fish and vegetables. I use it for my daily morning drink to start my day, and also use for cooking.
12. This ground ginger will last from 3-4 months if consumes daily depending how often you consume it.
13. Enjoy!

Let me know in the comments below how you did it and how you like it. I had so much fun making this ground ginger. It’s my first time to make it myself, so it was fascinating to me. I made it again the second time and I made more quantity and stored it downstairs where it’s cool and dark.
