Whisky production has had a long history in Tasmania. It was banned for more than 150 years after an early colonial governor outlawed production at the behest of his wife.

The modern industry restated in the 1990s and has been so successful, Tasmania is now referred to by many as the whisky isle.

It's now got broad appeal with more women both producing and consuming the golden spirit.
