Bikepacking trip along the Trail of the Coeur d' Alenes and the Hiawatha Trail in northern Idaho. Me and 4 other guys packed our bicycles and camped along our way as we traveled the iconic Trail of the Coeur d' Alenes and the Hiawatha Trail on a nearly 200 mile loop starting and ending in Plummer, Idaho.

We started in Plummer and then camped at Chatcolet Campground. Day 2 we rode the Trail of the Coeur d’ Alenes along Chatcolet Lake, Lake Coeur d’ Alene, and the Coeur d’ Alene River. We traveled through small towns like Osburn, Silverton, Smelterville, Wallace, Kellogg, and Mullan. We camped on night two at the Trail of the Olympian near the Route of the Hiawatha trailhead. On day 3 we traveled the iconic Hiawatha Trail or Route of the Hiawatha. Then, we followed the picturesque St. Joe River. We stopped in Avery for breakfast and then followed the river to St. Maries. Then, we climbed the pass on Highway 5 and then back to Chatcolet Lake and on to Plummer to complete our nearly 190 mile loop. Highlights included crossing the Chatcolet Lake bridge, over 100 years old, over 3100 feet long. We also saw wildlife including a momma moose with her calf and 2 other moose feeding in her marshland along the trail. It was an awesome adventure.

My name is Paul. I enjoy riding my bike and going on adventures. I ride nearly every day. I also have a great time on long-distance trips. In 2023, I did the Seattle to Portland (STP) one day ride, I also did a cross-state ride with my friend, Darian (check out our video on this channel). In 2024, we did this ride, plus, I did a solo cross state ride (video is coming, just subscribe and you’ll be alerted when it drops). I’ll keep riding a producing content and appreciate you watching and sharing it with others.

I ride an older Bianchi carbon fiber road bike, I also ride my Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 bike on my Bikepacking journeys, I also ride a Specialized Sirrus steel frame bike (I use the Sirrus on my trainer indoors in inclement weather). I ride pretty much year round regardless of the temperature. I rode down to 0 degrees F last winter and around 110 degrees F in the summer. Ice or heavy snow sometimes forces me to get on the trainer.

I hope you enjoy the various videos and I welcome your feedback!
