I tried this idea and it worked for me. A few pieces of plywood and a few threaded rods is all it takes to make a tea table. But this idea could be used to make a wide range of home furniture like book shelves, corner stands, flower pot stands etc. Disclaimer: one drawback is that this is not a strong structure. There is no horizontal connection to keep it strong . I could have done that but it will complicate things for a common person..
