Linear Appraisal is a wonderful Performance Program offered by the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). When you have your first opportunity to be appraised, it can be intimidating and scary, but really it is quite simple to prepare. This tutorial goes over all of the things you need to do leading up to appraisal day including an in-depth clipping tutorial (clipping for Linear Appraisal is not required, but can help the appraiser better see your animal).

UPDATE SENT FROM ADGA PRESIDENT BADEN "@3:56 “permanent score” is achieved at age 5; however, if a doe who has never been previously appraised & is 6 years-old, and the appraiser seems her in condition, she needs to be scored, she is not owner optional." -Thanks for the clarification!
