In this video I show how I made a wooden countertop for a kitchen island that is made from multiple types of wood that results in a multi-colored countertop. The countertop is 39" x 84" (99 cm x 213 cm) and it is about 1 5/8" (42 mm) thick. I built a router sled so that I could flatten the large countertop after it was glued up.

The types of wood used in the countertop are walnut, cherry, padauk, hickory, ambrosia maple, red grandis, and hickory. I used TotalBoat epoxy to glue up the wood pieces to give me a long open time.
