Giant Slide at Aquaria Water Park

Just after spending Christmas Day at Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort, we spent an entire day at the nearby Aquaria Water Park. We went to Batangas because we loved the ocean, and if you want to experience a quick beach getaway from Manila, you had to head to Batangas beach.

Aquaria Water Park is located in Calatagan Batangas, just a couple of hours away from the metro. You can drive there, no need to go on any boat ride, and they are situated right on a popular beach. Check out their resort offers. There are also some great diving spots nearby.

You can stay overnight, or you can just do a day trip with the family. It’s a fun weekend getaway for people of all ages.

Aquaria also had multiple swimming pools and a beach front, so you get the best of both. It had one big giant slide that was a lot of fun.

We had a pretty good time here. The place was “fully booked” but there were hardly any people. Social distancing and COVID-19 protocols were followed, and there wasn’t any moment that we felt unsafe during the whole experience.

Good to know they are operating at a limited capacity to help keep things relatively safe. Listen, there’s no better place to spend quality time during this pandemic than in the outdoors, beside the sea no less, with all the saltwater humidity in the air.

Obviously, things haven’t been going well in the Philippines as of late, with the rising COVID cases daily. It was nice to have been able to escape that for a while, but right now, it is probably best to stay indoors.

We pray that things will get better in the coming months, and for the world to heal together and we can finally get past this chapter in our lives. It certainly hasn’t been the same at all.

Anyway, it’s great to take a break and have some fun in the sun while you can. Here are a few cinematic highlights that I shot with the Sony A7C and the Sony FE 28-60 f/4.

I had my brother’s DJI Osmo Action to get underwater shots, or any shot that I didn’t want to risk getting my mirrorless camera wet.
