In this http://drumlinechops.com lesson, Pat McLaughlin teaches you how to play with the matched grip drum technique. Matched grip is a great technique for all types of drummers including those on drumline. The traditional grip was developed to allow rudimental drummers to play over the rim of a tilted drum due to the carrying strap. However, now that modern harnesses allow the drums to be flat, we don't necessarily need to use traditional grip. Matched grip is an extremely balanced and viable technique for any drummer and any drumline. Check it out and see what you think!
