Gerry Marsden from Gerry and The Pacemakers, was a product of The Beatles management Brian Epstein and George Martin and the band travelled with The Beatles when they went to Hamburg in Germany in 1960

Gerry and The Pacemakers beat the Beatles ( both Liverpool products) to be the first band to get three consecutive number 1 hits, however The Beatles went on to outshine their mates


Gerry Marsden with his unique voice and iconic smile, passed away at only 78. He had a prior serious heart condition. He went into hospital on Boxing Day when tests showed he had a blood infection that had travelled to his heart So sad that he spent his last days alone due to COVID hospital restrictions and no loved ones were allowed to be with him.


Gerry Marsden re-recorded one song 'Ferry Crossed the Mersey with Paul McCartney following the Hillsborough disaster in which 96 Liverpool F.C. fans being killed.


You'll Never Walk Alone is the anthem of the Liverpool Football Club and sung at each game. It went back to number one last year when singer Michael Ball and the NHS Choir released a version with Captain Tom Moore the 100 year old WW2 veteran.


There will be a few million people in tears in Liverpool at the next rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone'
