Investment banking is an incredibly popular career for people coming out of school. But most people really just use IB as a platform to break into other fields. Out of my entire investment banking class, only one person is still at that firm five years later!

The vast majority of people stay in finance on the buyside. 2/3 of people go to private equity right after investment banking. However, as time goes on, more and more people are leaving finance to pursue great careers in politics, sports, entrepreneurship and more.
