In this video, we will take a look at the history of the Republic of Kraków, a semi-independent city state created after the end of the Napoleonic Wars. It was one of the few countries in Europe that actually functioned on a republican basis, which makes it quite unique for the time period. It was also the main centre for Polish nationalists, who in the fateful year of 1846 attempted to finally liberate the Polish lands from the partitioning powers.
