I have seen lawn care guidance on social media and YouTube grow increasingly involved and complex. This makes it harder and harder for a beginner to truly know where and how to start without making huge investments in equipment, rentals, and various products.

In an attempt to address this, I'm developing this series, currently titled Level Up, which will focus exclusively on bringing anyone from absolute beginner all the way through the seasoned and well researched hobbyist.

In episode 1, I'm highlighting the absolute basics that are all you really need to start to have a noticeably nicer yard. Those two things are improving your mowing and watering habits. If you just do these two things well, you will already be well on your way to one of the nicest yards in your neighborhood. From this foundation, then, we can build up and bring in fertilizer, herbicides, and a whole world of cultural practices you can work to develop to continue to improve the overall turf quality.
