A lot of you have been asking, so I am going to give it to you. I am going to show you how to eat to build lean muscle mass after 40. This is going to be a full day’s worth of eating, so get ready as we go over some meals for building lean muscle.

On workout days, you are able to eat complex carbs. So, let’s get started with the first meal in today’s video. I like to start off the day with some OATMEAL. This is a good carb source. I am also going to pair it with protein by having some EGG WHITES as well. I will also add Turkey Bacon, as it has a little less fat than normal bacon. Don’t be afraid to add some flavoring to your eggs, especially if it is zero calories. If you are not working out, eliminate the oatmeal and eat whole eggs with the yolk. You can also substitute in actual bacon to get some of the fats in the meal.

Now it is time for Meal #2 of the day. A good meal to have is STEAK with a POTATO, and a SALAD. For the salad, I just use some pre-chopped romaine with an amazing sugar-free raspberry dressing. I will also add some spinach to the salad as well. You can also add some protein croutons to get more crunch and texture in your salad. You can peel and fry your potatoes, it does not have to be a baked potato. Make sure to measure the dressing, you don’t want to use too much dressing and ruin the work you are doing in prepping your meals.

Time for meal #3. This is a convenient meal! This meal is going to be GROUND CHICKEN, with another salad using balsamic vinaigrette dressing, and JASMINE RICE. I typically try to have around 3 salads a day, you can also do veggies instead if you like veggies. You want to have around 6 ounces of chicken, and it doesn’t need to be ground. I typically put the chicken and rice together in a bowl then add 15 grams of parmesan cheese to it.

Now on to the 4th meal of the day. Typically 3 meals and a snack in one day is perfect! I am making nachos, but will be avoiding the carbs in this meal. Avoid the complex carbs on the last meal of the day. You can use QUEST CHIPS, 4 ounces of lean beef, fat-free mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and a reduced fat mexican style cheese blend. This is going to be cheesy and delicious!

Those are the meals, and now I want to give you a little extra protein. I usually use 2 scoops of Whey Protein or animal-based protein. You can just add it to water and down it before bed, or you can make a sweeter snack. You can add some crushed ice, a little bit of water to make it thicker, and it will taste amazing!
