There are many videos on women's self-defense techniques on YouTube and most of them are really, REALLY bad. In reality, the best weapon a woman can use against an attacker is the knowledge of how to prevent an attack in the first place, and oftentimes this is easier than many people would imagine. It's all about not giving an attacker the opportunity through living a lifestyle of security.

While this video is aimed more at women, all can benefit from the personal safety and security principles discussed here. John Lovell and his wife, Mrs. Poet, discuss case studies and principles such as not volunteering information, being cold, alert, and modest, remaining situationally aware, avoiding stupid places, at stupid times, with stupide people, and trusting your gut. Consider sharing this video with wives, mothers, daughters, neighbors, and co-workers to ensure these women are kept safe through awareness. Most cimes and sexual assaults could have been easily prevented if the victim had taken simple steps to avoid becoming a victim. It is not always about using a weapon such as a gun or pepper spray, rather it is about being smart and living a lifestyle of security.
