Korea boasts a long history of sericulture, with Silla exporting silk to the Tang dynasty. Silk was produced in the largest volume among all traditional woven fabrics in the past in Korea, known for its unrivaled silk weaving techniques. In this episode, we follow the process of harvesting mulberry trees, cultivating silkworms, obtaining silk from the coccoons, and weaving silk on a loom to examine the traditional silk-weaving technique, which requires patience and devotion.
